Do you know the Fusion System?
The FUSION system is the propulsion system for spearguns, invented by ROISUB for you, to revolutionize freediving.
How does it work
A pair of upper rubbers (which attach to the rod) are connected to a dyneema that rotates on the pulleys.
The Dyneema is connected to a secondary system of rubbers that contracts in the direction of the handle.
The secondary system of rubbers can be made up of one or more pairs of rubbers that can work directly or can work in gear ratio (connected to a pair of blocks).
How it was born
The “Fusion” system was born in Italy, in 2012, thanks to the creativity of a Italian boy, Davide Simone Roi who first presented it to a limited audience of enthusiasts, through a sector forum and subsequently dedicated himself to the research and development of this system, creating a company that would make it known internationally.
The Fusion represents the evolutionary step of the roller in its direct drive forms (Fusion1 and Fusion2) and the evolutionary step of the systems that exploit the traction through simple gear reduction, in the various versions called Fusion-Demo, to then arrive at the evolution of the FusionK (system which uses an internal line to stop the upper tires from stretching).
By definition we can call Fusion any propulsion system that has pulleys in the head on which a line rotates and to which short length rubbers are attached with the aim of subsequently attaching them via a spindle to the shaft pin.
Rubbers can be connected directly to the other end of the line which rotates on the pulleys (in this case we are talking about direct traction fusion systems such as Fusion1 and Fusion2) or the line can rotate around a block to then be tied to the stem. In this case we are talking about Fusion-Demo systems and the rubbers are tied directly to the blocks.
The advantages
Here we are not interested in going into technicalities, we reiterate that the sizes and diameters of rubbers and rods must be calculated with extreme care and therefore a lot of professionalism is necessary on the part of those who propose these solutions.
The advantages of the Roisub Fusion direct drive system are many and all important:
- Less Recoil (even more reduced than the roller, with the benefit of notable precision while maintaining the simplicity of loading, which is similar to traditional systems)
- Sharper shot (as it does not suffer from the friction of the rubber on the pulleys as in the case of Roller systems and prefers thinner diameter shafts).
- Greater precision (since the pin is parallel to the shaft and the rubbers work in reverse, subtracting the recoil effect from the shot)
- Greater power (as the contrary work of the rubbers allows the force to be discharged on the shaft instead of on the wrist as in traditional systems)
The Demultiplied Fusion
The systems Fusion-Demo (Fusion Demultiplied) represent a subsequent step compared to the direct drive Fusion systems and are dedicated to more powerful configurations, being able to compete in terms of power with the best rubbers and even with the longest and largest wooden ocean rifles, maintaining a traverse and agility typical of light traditional rifles. There are models that can be armed with 7mm, 8mm and even 8.5mm shafts: it is the intended use that determines the configuration to choose.
The recoil of the Fusion-Demo systems is further reduced. Compared to systems with simple gear ratio in which the shaft is pushed at a speed double the speed of contraction of the lower rubbers, in the Fusion-Demo systems this limit is overcome and this explains how they represent an evolution of these already excellent systems.
In practice, the Fusion system in its various versions can satisfy the needs of the underwater fisherman from the novice to the expert and represents a real innovation in the evolution of the tools available to all freediving enthusiasts.
